MapPal Terms of Use
Draft dated: August 28, 2026
These terms govern the MapPal service and website. The iPhone app is also licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these terms conflict with Apple’s Standard EULA about the app license, the Standard EULA controls that license.
Using MapPal
You must be at least 13 and legally able to accept these terms. Keep your Apple and MapPal access secure, provide accurate information, and notify support if you believe your account is compromised. You are responsible for the places and material you choose to save or import and for complying with applicable laws and third-party rights.
Phase 1 is a private place-saving service. It does not include public profiles, shared lists, collaboration, Community, Discover, messaging, advertising, or people discovery.
Imports and third-party services
MapPal can help you import a place from a user-selected website, social post, map link, text, photo, or screenshot. Suggestions can be incomplete or wrong. You must review the name, map location, and details before tapping Add Pin. Do not use MapPal to access private, restricted, unlawful, or infringing material, bypass another service’s controls, or submit content you are not allowed to process.
Maps, source websites, social platforms, Apple, and import processors are independent services with their own terms and availability. MapPal does not guarantee third-party content, coordinates, hours, prices, safety, accessibility, or continued availability.
Subscriptions
The free tier includes up to 250 pins and 10 nearby alerts. MapPal Pro provides unlimited pins and nearby alerts through monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscriptions. Your App Store purchase screen shows the current price and renewal period before confirmation. Apple charges your account, handles refunds under its policies, and renews the subscription until you cancel it in Apple Account settings. Deleting MapPal’s server account or the app does not itself cancel an Apple subscription.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, interfere with its security or operation, probe or overload it, automate access outside supported app flows, impersonate another person, introduce malicious code, scrape or resell MapPal or map-provider data, or use the service to violate privacy, intellectual-property, export, sanctions, or other applicable law.
Your content and privacy
You keep ownership of content you add. You give MapPal only the limited permission needed to store private app content through your device/iCloud and process material you deliberately submit for an import, support request, security review, or account operation. The Privacy Policy explains those boundaries.
Availability, changes, and termination
MapPal may change, suspend, or discontinue features; impose reasonable security or usage limits; and block activity that threatens users, providers, or the service. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, fraud, abuse, legal requirements, or security risk. You may stop using MapPal and request account deletion at any time. A completed deletion may be irreversible.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MapPal and its services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Place suggestions, maps, reminders, directions, third-party content, and external services may be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable and are not emergency, safety, medical, or professional advice. The warranty, liability, and third-party-beneficiary provisions in Apple’s Standard EULA also apply to the licensed app. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
